First day of school...

Today was our baby girl's first day of school! The first week is the phase-in week for new students to get acquainted with their new teachers, new classmates and learn about the classroom rules while learning basic grace and courtesy lessons (as well as getting lessons on practical Life and sensorial).  Baby girl was a bit sad but by the time we picked her up she was her happy self, telling us all about her day! Bitter-sweet…baby girl is growing way too fast :o(

Baby girl wants a Doc McStuffins birthday party, so we decided to take a photo for her invitations...and got a bit carried away :0)

We went to the zoo, one of our girl’s favorite places to visit!

She was a trooper, she just wanted to walk (no stroller for our girl this time!)

Birthday preparations...

Little Miss has been helping with birthday preparations. She has many ideas and many requests… we only have a few more days and we are not sure about the theme yet because baby girl is interested in Doc MC Stuffins as well as Sofia the first!

I was looking for ideas on Pinterest… of course she wanted to know what I was doing, so I introduced her to Pinterest. Well...I think I created a monster! She loves pinning, what can  I say? 

2 weeks until our girl's 4th Birthday!!!

First field-trip...

We were able to go with our Lil Cupcake to her first school field trip... yay!

We visited a plantation and learned how corn cribs and summer kitchens were used during the 1700's among other fun facts. I personally think the field trip was geared more toward older children but our girl still had fun and that's what really matters :0) As a teacher, I had the opportunity to go on many field trips but this one was extra special... We were able to go as parents of this sweet girl! Our very first field-trip with our girl,  can't believe it!!!

 

We are so blessed! We get to be the Mommy & Daddy of this precious girl!!!  

Summer Camp!

Our girl just started summer camp (two week program: August 3rd to 14th- 2015)! It will serve as a transition to Montessori School at the end of the month… We are excited yet a bit sad. It is hard not having her with us all of the time :0(

The first few days were very difficult for all of us (she even had a boo-boo on her first day :0(

 Summer camp is not as structured as the regular educational program, we are confident that once she settles into a regular schedule she will be more comfortable. Our girl has been doing a lot of observing and keeping to herself… not very engaged (very unusual) but we know that will change very soon. Once she is comfortable, she will try to take over :0)

We did not plan to send our girl to school at least until she turned 5 but we know she will benefit from being with other children of her same age. We just keep reminding ourselves it’s only for half-a-day… it’s only half-a-day…it’s only half-a-day…
